To our dear friend Roberto,

You always brought smiles, laughter and happiness to our many times spent together.  Of course we had to make sure that you were always well fed. Don found this out the first time he met you as you went off to have fish and chips by yourself before re-joining us in the pub. You then came back in with that beautiful smile on your face, ready to join in with the fun.

You had such a zest for life and you loved meeting friends, old and new. You made us all feel so special with your warmth, interest in us and acts of kindness. I always admired your drive to learn new skills, gather knowledge and consistently take on new challenges over the years, such as doing a Masters Degree, getting a pilot’s licence, learning Latin and most recently sailing around the coasts of Spain and Portugal. That one was not for the faint hearted but you did all of these with ease.

Don and I also liked your fashion sense as you always looked so smart and stylish. We were in awe of the way you would just throw a jumper around your shoulders and it would look a million dollars, with no apparent effort at all. Only a stylish Italian man like you Roberto can do that!

The unthinkable has now happened and we must all now go on without you but you will always be in our hearts. We love you Roberto and we're really going to miss you.
